Collection and processing of personal data

As a rule, you can visit our website without us requiring any personal data from you. Personal data is only collected if you provide it to us voluntarily, for example as part of a registration, an enquiry or to execute a contract.

When you access this website, the following data is stored in a log file:

  • anonymised IP address (anonymisation is carried out by truncating at least 3 digits of the IP address)
  • Date and time of access
  • Page called up or name of the file called up
  • Notification of whether access to the page or retrieval of the file was successful
  • Amount of data transferred
  • Web browser and operating system used

The log file is automatically deleted after 30 days.

Use and disclosure of personal data and purpose limitation

All personal data collected in the context of our Internet services are collected, processed and used in accordance with the applicable regulations for the protection of personal data, only for the purpose of contract processing and to safeguard our own legitimate business interests with regard to advising and supporting our customers and interested parties.
Insofar as we are obliged to do so by law or by court order, we will transfer your data to bodies authorised to receive such information.

Security

We use technical and organisational security measures to protect the data you provide from accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons. This also applies when external services are used. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

Cookies

We use cookies on our website. A cookie is a small file that is stored on your computer as soon as you visit a website. If you visit the website again, the cookie indicates that it is a repeat visit. The cookie contains a unique number and, if applicable, a date. The cookie does not contain any personal data. The cookie cannot be used to identify you on third-party websites, including the websites of analytics providers.

You can configure your browser so that the acceptance of cookies is refused in principle or you are informed in advance when a cookie is stored. Further information on this can be found in the operating instructions for your Internet browser.

We do not use IP addresses or cookies to identify you personally.
We use the systems with the aim of increasing the efficiency of our website and our marketing.

Google MAPS

Google may transfer the information obtained through Maps to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf.

Under no circumstances will Google associate your IP address with other Google data. Nevertheless, it would be technically possible for Google to identify at least individual users on the basis of the data received. It is possible that personal data and personality profiles of users of the website could be processed by Google for other purposes over which we have and can have no influence. This and the fact that data is transferred to the USA is problematic for data protection reasons.

You have the option of deactivating the Google Maps service in a simple manner and thus preventing the transfer of data to Google: To do this, deactivate JavaScript in your browser. However, we would like to point out that you will not be able to use the map display in this case.

By using this website and not deactivating the JavaScript function, you expressly declare that you are aware of the data protection issues and that you consent to the processing of the data collected about you by Google in the manner described above and for the aforementioned purpose.

Website tracking with PIWIK

Website tracking Google Analytics and its advertising functions

Our website uses the web analytics service Google Analytics, provided by Google Inc („Google“). Google Analytics uses „cookies“, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will be truncated by Google beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information on our behalf to analyse your use of this website, to compile reports and to provide other services related to the use of this website. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

We would also like to point out separately that we have activated all advertising functions in Google Analytics. This means that additional access data is collected if you provide it. With the advertising function, we receive reports on performance according to demographic characteristics, interests and remarketing.
Personal data may be merged with non-personal data if it is collected with the help of Google advertising products.

You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use (including your IP address) and processing by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set to prevent the future collection of your data when you visit this website:
Deactivate Google Analytics
Further information on terms of use and data protection can be found at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/.
We would like to point out that on this website Google Analytics has been extended by the code „anonymizeIp“ in order to ensure anonymised collection of IP addresses.

Advertising, e-mail advertising (newsletter)

If you have registered separately for the newsletter for our product areas, your e-mail address will be used for our own advertising purposes for these product areas until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs according to the basic rates.
Of course, you can object to any further use of your data for advertising and marketing purposes at any time - even if this is legally permissible without your consent (e.g. postal advertising) - by simply sending us a message.
It is also possible to unsubscribe from a newsletter via an unsubscribe link in the newsletter itself.

Apps

Services can be used via end devices such as smartphones or iPads with the iOS operating system. In some cases, content is loaded from other sources (primarily to ensure that the data is up-to-date, e.g. map material from map providers). Functions are always executed on the end device. If we call up functions on our servers (e.g. for performance reasons), we discard this data there after transferring the results. We only process personal data if this is necessary for the purpose of the app or if you have given us your explicit consent. Data is not passed on to third parties. We reserve the right to statistically analyse anonymised data records.

Geodata is used for localisation services (e.g. your location). We do not merge this geodata with your personal data, but only use it for the purpose of localisation within the scope of the app or sub-function of an app you have called up. After localisation, we discard this geodata. Depending on your end device, you can also generally switch off the localisation option (see the information provided by the manufacturer of your end device). In this case, however, the localisation function of the app cannot be used.

Data is also stored on your end device. Personal data is always stored in encrypted form; some data is also stored in unencrypted form (e.g. settings of specific on/off switches of our apps). If your end device is lost, misuse by third parties cannot be ruled out. We therefore recommend that you use the device-specific measures to prevent misuse (encryption, user lock, etc.). Please refer to the information provided by the manufacturer of your end device. You should also use the options to remove personal data from your device if you pass it on, e.g. if you sell it.

Integration of social network plug-ins

FACEBOOK

Our website uses social plugins (“plugins”) from the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plugins can be recognised by one of the Facebook logos (white „f“ on a blue tile or a „thumbs up“ sign) or are marked with the addition “Facebook Social Plugin”. The list and appearance of the Facebook social plugins can be viewed here: http://developers.facebook.com/plugins.

When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser, which integrates it into the website. We therefore have no influence on the scope of the data that Facebook collects with the help of this plugin and therefore inform you according to our level of knowledge:

By integrating the plugins, Facebook receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website. If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the Like button or leaving a comment, the corresponding information is transmitted directly from your browser to Facebook and stored there. If you are not a member of Facebook, it is still possible for Facebook to find out your IP address and store it.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy can be found in Facebook's data protection information: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php.

If you are a Facebook member and do not want Facebook to collect data about you via our website and link it to your membership data stored on Facebook, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website.

It is also possible to block Facebook social plugins with add-ons for your browser, for example with the “Facebook Blocker”.

TWITTER

This site uses a plugin of the social network Twitter, which is operated by Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom Street, Suite 600 San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Twitter”). The plugin is activated by clicking on the “Tweet” button.
If this button is active, i.e. the original Twitter button is visible instead of the placeholder graphic, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Twitter servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Twitter directly to your browser, which integrates it into the website. By integrating the plugin, Twitter receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding website of our Internet presence. If you are logged in to Twitter at the time, Twitter can assign the visit to your Twitter account. If you interact with the plugin by clicking the “Tweet” button, the corresponding information is transmitted directly from your browser to Twitter and stored there. If you are not a member of Twitter or have logged out of Twitter before visiting our website, there is still the possibility that Twitter will find out your IP address and store it. For more information on the collection and use of data by Twitter, your rights in this regard and options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Twitter's privacy policy.
If you do not want Twitter to collect data about you via our website and link it to your data stored on Twitter, simply do not activate the corresponding button.

GOOGLE+

Our website uses social plugins from the online social network plus.google.com (Google+), which is operated by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043, USA. When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Google's servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Google directly to your browser, which integrates it into the website.
By integrating the plugins, Google+ receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website. If you are logged in to Google+, Google+ can assign the visit to your Google+ account. The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Google+ as well as your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy can be found in Google+'s data protection information.

YOUTUBE

Our website integrates YouTube videos. Like most websites, YouTube also uses cookies to collect information about the viewers of its videos. Among other things, YouTube uses cookies to collect reliable video statistics, to prevent fraud and to improve user-friendliness.

Further details on the use of cookies by YouTube can be found in YouTube's privacy policy.

The data will then be deleted. Consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

Links to websites of other providers

Our website may contain links to websites of other providers. We would like to point out that this privacy policy applies exclusively to this website. We have no influence on and do not check that other providers comply with the applicable data protection regulations.
